In 2026, fashion accessories are all about intention and self-expression. People are craving fresh, innovative designs, but they’re also drawn to nostalgic details that feel familiar and comforting. The result? A fun mix of old and new eras and trends that combine both nostalgia with innovation.

This year, accessories aren’t just the final touch to an outfit. They are telling stories and helping people express their individual style. Trends are always evolving, but here are a few accessory trends predicted to dominate 2026 that you’ll want to keep on your radar:

I’ll be honest—living in a city where pickpocketing is common, this trend makes me a little nervous. Still, the open bag trend is something I wanted to talk about as it is set to be popular in 2026.

During Spring/Summer 2026 Fashion Week, luxury brands sent models down the runway carrying wide-open handbags. The look quickly jumped off the runway and into real life, spotted on celebrities like Ariana Grande, Victoria Beckham, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Jennifer Lawrence.

The open bag trend represents a carefree, confident woman who’s always on the move. It symbolizes freedom, spontaneity, and a subtle rebellion against perfection and control. While I wouldn’t recommend it in crowded cities, the concept behind the trend is powerful in 2026.

Oversized and statement belts have dominated for a couple of years, but this year the skinny belt is set to make a comeback. The sleekness of this accessory is what makes it versatile, chic, and adds a nice subtle elegance to any outfit. 

My favorite look of styling a skinny belt, is to style it over a blazer. This accessory highlights the beauty in the small details when it comes to styling an outfit.

How to wear it: You can use the skinny belt as a layering piece, using it over a long, slip dress or a blazer!

This is one trend I didn’t see coming, but I think it makes a lot of sense. If you’re looking to be associated with confidence and strength, then tiger eye jewelry is perfect for you. Tiger eye jewelry emerges as a standout gemstone trend in 2026, blending earthy tones with symbolic meaning.

Designers are incorporating tiger eye into rings, pendants, and bracelets with both raw and polished finishes. What I love about tiger eye accessories is that they are a statement, yet they still blend in perfectly with an everyday outfit.

If you want an accessory that has both form and function, then a belted bag is the answer. This bag is effortlessly modern, and I have seen them all over Milan lately. Unlike the open bag trend, belted bags represent control, making a nice contrast between the two trends.

Luxury brands have embraced this trend, proving that 2026 can embrace accessories that are functional and fashion-forwards.

Tassel Jewelry

What I found most interesting about this accessory is that tassel jewelry is known to be trending in eras where self-expression matters most. Like I mentioned earlier, people are looking for the mix of nostalgia and modern, and that’s exactly what tassel jewelry offers.

Tassel jewelry creates movement when you walk, making it the perfect bold statement piece that is bold. This accessory adds energy to your outfit and adds a sense of playfulness.
