September marks the start of Fashion Month, and there are lots of exciting events happening at the moment. Right now, all eyes are on New York Fashion Week. We’re getting the first glimpse of the trends that will shape Spring/Summer 2026. I am excited for that. However, I don’t want to get too far ahead. Let’s focus on the Fall 2025 fashion trends you can start embracing for the next few months.
This season, Fall fashion is all about being bold, experimental, and just a little unexpected. From shoes to outerwear, and from accessories to standout statement items, it’s about mixing timeless staples with modern pieces.
Here are the Fall 2025 trends I’m loving, and some ideas on how you can wear them!

Clothing
Preppy Layering

When I think of preppy layering, I instantly think of Gossip Girl and Clueless. Preppy layering is all about oversize blazers, plaid skirts, and layered shirts creating an effortless chic look.
This fall I want to channel my inner Blair, so I’ll definitely be trying out this look more than once!
How to wear it: Start with a button down shirt as the base and then layer a knit sweater on top. Then pair this with a skirt and some knee-high boots!
Lace-Trimmed Clothing

Lace began in the 15th Century when fashion was seeing a shift from functionality to more experimental and decorative. It was seen as a luxurious status symbol. Nowadays, lace is versatile and has been reinvented to symbolize many different narratives.
In Fall 2025, colored lace, full-body lace silhouettes, and lace trimming are predicted to be popular. Major fashion houses such as Saint Laurent, Gucci, Fendi, Dior, and Rabanne incorporated lace into their runway looks at this year’s fashion weeks.
For this season, I have been seeing lace-trimmed clothing everywhere! Think of it as an added flair of lace that takes a piece of clothing to the next level.
How to wear it: Consider pairing a knit sweater over a lace dress. Alternatively, choose a skirt that features lace trim details.
Electric Blue

Of course, neutrals are the ideal color palette for the fall season. However, that doesn’t mean there isn’t any room for a pop of color.
This season, consider adding one electric blue element to your wardrobe. It provides a fun, bold, and vibrant alternative to an all-natural outfit.
How to wear it: One statement electric blue piece can do all the talking in your outfit.
Scarf Jackets

Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber really embraced the scarf jacket trend. Scarf jackets are statement outerwear that upgrade any outfit and are extremely practical. You don’t need to buy a separate scarf and jacket. You can get a 2-in-1 functional piece that offers you both at the same time.
Consider investing in one this fall. It allows you to have a statement piece that does the work for you. It is extremely versatile!
How to wear it: Keep the rest of your outfit simple to highlight the jacket.
Animal Prints

Animal prints in fashion can feel like a tale as old as time. This year, however, we are seeing a rise in cow prints and zebra prints in additional to leopard prints.
This trend is both playful and bold, making it a fun way to experiment and try something new in the upcoming months.
How to wear it: Feature prints on one statement piece like boots, jackets, or skirts. Keep other pieces neutral.
Boho Aesthetic

Boho aesthetic may feel like an homage to 2005, but now it’s back and better than ever. We are seeing fringe and looser-fitting clothes with a natural artisans feel, takeover and be in charge.
Particularly for Fall 2025, the bohemian style is about mixing vintage-inspired loose-fitting silhouettes with more modern pieces. It’s all about the proper layering with this look.
How to wear it: Pair a suede jacket with a neutral colored outfit and a darker fringed bag.
Faux Fur

On the runways this year, faux fur was a dominating trend. Designers took their own approach and created many different iterations of pieces that included faux fur.
The faux fur jacket is always a statement in itself, so it’s no surprise that this timeless piece continues to be a trend throughout the years.
How to wear it: Pair a faux fur jacket with heeled boots and wide-legged pants for a sophisticated and elevated look.
Maximal Minimalism

This trend is minimalism with a twist. It’s a perfect way to make a classic look more interesting and dynamic. Think of clean silhouettes merging with bold textures, colors, or statement details.
This trend is giving Boston city girl as it has a very Ivy League feel to it. Although I am not part of an Ivy League, that won’t stop me from trying this look out.
How to wear it: Combine classic basics with one eye-catching piece for balance.
Barn Jacket Look

You know those weekend days where you want to look put together for your errands , but you are also feeling more of a casual and cozy look? If you own a barn jacket, this is the solution to looking put together when you don’t necessarily want to .
A barn jacket is a fall statement piece that does all the work for you. It’s practical and it’s trending right now which makes one step closer to being stylish and comfortable at the same time. You can find a vintage-inspired barn jacket or opt for a modern look.
How to wear it: Pair with denim, knitwear, and boots for a cozy Sunday look.
Shoes
Mary Janes

Mary Janes dominated last fall, being one of the top shoes I saw when walking around Milan this year. A classic shoe with a modern twist, I love the way this shoe adds a chic and feminine touch to any outfit.
These shoes are here to stay this fall which I am very excited about as they are easy to pair and offer a timeless touch to any outfit I decide to wear that day!
How to wear it: Go for velvet or patent leather for a luxe touch. Add socks or tights for extra style points.
Torpedo Sneakers

This style of sneaker has taken over in streetwear. Think Adidas Sambas or Prada’s Collabs sneaker. What I love about them is that they are sleek and perfect for layering casual looks. In the fall, the classic neutral and darker colors are a great option for this sneaker.
They are still trending to this day and this fall the Adidas Samba and the Puma Speedcat in darker colors are still dominating the market, whereas the Gola Torpedo and Maison Margiela‘s Sprinter sneaker are also popular.
How to wear it: Pair with cropped pants, wide-leg trousers, or even midi skirts for a chic contrast.
Leather Boots

Year after year, leather boots are trending in the fall. There are so many different variations of this boot from heeled to knee-high, combat, or chunky boots that add edge and structure to wide-leg pants.
Consider these Dolce Vita Emmi Leather Boots for a classic and durable look this fall season.
How to wear it: Pair leather boots with wide leg pants to help enhance the silhouette of the outfit.
Accessories
Slouchy Bags

Slouchy bags are trending right now which is ideal given that they are roomy enough to hold all of your daily essentials. They pair well with any outfit and are the perfect, effortless, and practical bag.
How to wear it: Pair with any outfit as this bag is extremely versatile.
Oval Glasses

These glasses are super cute and they can be multi-functional if you purchase ones with blue-light effects. This accessory offers a retro charm meets modern style. Instantly adds sophistication and a cool-girl effect to any look.
How to wear it: Pair it with a blazer look or a casual knit look
Bowling Bags

I have been seeing the bowling bag look all over my feed lately. These bags are structured yet versatile. They offer more of a vintage-inspired look while still being a modern chic accessory.
For fall, I love bowling bags in a chocolate brown shade or suede material.
How to wear it: Pairs well with smart-casual outfits.
Long Necklaces

This fall the jewelry trends are all about maximalism, and one way you can achieve this is through a long necklace. In particular, pendant necklaces have been embraced by celebrities such as Jennifer Lawrence and Salma Hayek.
How to wear it: Find a chunky pendant necklace to pair with a casual outfit so that the necklace is the statement piece.
Bag Charms

We have seen Labubus take over this year as bag charms, and while this is still a trending bag charm, A bag charm is the perfect accessory to add some personality to your bag and truly make it your own.
I personally love the bag charms from Coach and Baublebar if you are looking for more of a fun look. Miu Miu and Gucci also have nice bag charms although they are on the pricier side.
And there you have it, some Fall 2025 fashion trends to keep a look out for and try out in the upcoming months! Comment down below which one is your favorite! My favorite is definitely the slouchy bag trend.
